ROCKFORD — A 33-year-old Rockford man is receiving federal prison time for robbing a bank. Bernard Wandick was sentenced to five-years after pleading guilty earlier this year to the robbery of a Chase Bank on North Main Street in July 2019. Prosecutors say Wandick admitted that he entered the bank wearing a medical mask. He pointed a firearm at several bank employees and demanded money from the tellers behind the counter before fleeing on foot with stolen cash.
