ROCKFORD — A Rockford man is being acquitted of murder. Joseph Peppers was found not guilty of murdering Rachel Dishman in 2020 during a Winnebago County bench trial. Peppers face multiple charges after the Rockford woman was found dead in the 59-hundred block of Cunningham Road five years ago. The coroner said Dishman died of blunt trauma to the head.
