Rochelle Police Continue Pink Patch Project to Support Cancer Resource Center

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Police Department has launched its 2025 Pink Patch Project to raise money for the LivingWell Cancer Resource Center in honor of Officer Ryan Kovacs’ late mother, Tammy Kovacs. The department is selling pink patches for $10 at the police station, along with shirts and hoodies through 926 Custom Embroidery. Proceeds will go toward cancer resources and a scholarship for a Rochelle Township High School student affected by breast cancer.

Kovacs said, “Our first year we raised $10,000 and in the subsequent years we’ve raised over $21,000 to donate to the Living Well Center.” He added, “My mom always said, do good to others and you’ll get good back to yourself, and I hope she’s looking down proud of everything we’ve been doing.”
