ROCHELLE — Rochelle’s Fourth of July fireworks celebration will be held tonight, with food vendors, live music, and family-friendly activities in the parks on the west side of town. The Rochelle Municipal Band will perform a patriotic set starting at 7:30 p.m., and fireworks will follow at dusk with a synchronized soundtrack airing on 102.3 The Coyote.
Jenny Thompson, Director of Community Engagement with the city of Rochelle, said the event is more than just fireworks.
“Get there early, bring a blanket, bring your lawn chairs, get a great seat, and get some dinner right at the park because we have Teka, Los Mochaletes, and Ralfie’s BBQ serving food, and then Kona Ice will be there serving up some desserts,” she said.
“There’s plenty going on to keep you busy for a few hours while you wait for those fireworks to start.”
