ROCHELLE — Rochelle School District 231 reported that revenues and expenditures are tracking as expected midway through the fiscal year at the district board meeting last week. Business Manager Kevin Dale and intern Matt Zilm presented that the district has received $9.59 million so far, about 32.2 percent of the total budget, with the Education Fund collecting $6.06 million and the Operations and Maintenance Fund $1.55 million. Year-to-date expenses total $6.48 million, including $2.5 million from the Education Fund and $538,577 from O&M. Officials proposed a 4.7 percent property tax levy increase, adding roughly $500,000 to cover rising costs and inflation, with formal adoption scheduled for next month.
