Rochelle Council To Consider Energy Action Plan

ROCHELLE – The Rochelle City Council adopted the Energy Action Plan for Rochelle Municipal Utilities last week. The plan, prepared by the EnergySense Resilience Center at the University of Illinois System, provides a framework through 2050 focused on energy efficiency, resilience, affordability and community engagement. City officials said the plan is intended to help RMU maintain reliable and affordable electric service while preparing for state energy requirements and long term changes in power supply. Adoption would not approve any specific project, contract, rate change or expenditure.
