Rochelle Council Approves Wastewater, Water System Repairs

ROCHELLE – The Rochelle City Council approved three measures Monday night involving city water and wastewater facilities. The council approved an additional $19,032.01 repair for Blower No. 3 at the wastewater treatment plant, with the work being completed by the blower’s original manufacturer, Aerzen. The council also approved waiving competitive bidding for Altorfer CAT to repair the failed generator at Well 12 on Hayes Road. The generator is needed to help maintain water service during a power outage or emergency. The council also approved an agreement with BP Midwest Product Pipelines Holdings LLC allowing the city to make improvements at Well 8, including an asphalt pad and concrete bollards near a BP pipeline easement.
