Rochelle Council Approves Purchase of New Bucket Truck

ROCHELLE — The City of Rochelle City Council approved an ordinance Monday night waiving competitive bidding and awarding a purchase order to Altec Industries, Inc. for a new AT48M bucket truck. The truck will replace unit E-17, which will be 14 years old by the time the new vehicle is delivered, and is needed due to rising maintenance demands and reliability concerns. The purchase, funded through Electric Capital Funds at $289,546, is being made through a Sourcewell cooperative contract. The new truck is expected to be delivered in mid-2027.
