Rochelle Community Hospital to Host Blood Drive

ROCHELLE — Rock River Valley Blood Center will hold a blood drive at Rochelle Community Hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 900 N. 2nd St. RRVBC supplies the total blood needs for 14 area hospitals and collects more than 800 units of blood each week from donors in nine counties across Illinois and Wisconsin.

Maggie Anderson, Marketing and Recruitment Specialist with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said “Donating blood is a tangible way to spread holiday cheer, ensuring that medical teams have the resources that they need to treat different patients, especially when the cold weather leads to more accidents and illnesses.”

Donors are encouraged to reserve a donation time through RRVBC.org ahead of the event, though walk-ins are always welcome

“The greatest gift that you can give humanity this holiday season is the gift of life,” said Anderson

The not-for-profit organization is governed by an eleven-member board and accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks.
