Rochelle Awards $6.98 Million Contract for Centerpoint Substation

ROCHELLE — The City of Rochelle has awarded a $6,975,780 contract to Tri-City Electric Co. for the construction of the Centerpoint Substation. Tri-City submitted the lowest of three competitive bids, with JF Electric and L.E. Myers bidding $8,061,730 and $8,500,317 respectively. The company has experience with similar projects and employs certified, trained craftsmen. The project, funded through electric funds, includes a recommended 10% contingency to address any unforeseen site conditions. The work supports the city’s strategic goal of improving infrastructure effectiveness.
