CHICAGO — Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul, the Federal Trade Commission and the attorneys general of Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin have reached a settlement with Deere and Company resolving allegations the manufacturer unfairly limited farmers and independent repair shops from fixing Deere equipment. The agreement requires Deere to provide repair tools, software, technical manuals and diagnostic resources to farmers and independent repair providers on fair and reasonable terms for the next 10 years. The settlement also requires Deere to make future repair resources available, prevent retaliation against customers who choose independent repairs and comply with reporting and oversight requirements designed to ensure farmers have greater access to repair services.
