Pre-Trial Release Denied For Chicago City Employee Accused Of Threatening State Senator

FREEPORT —  A Chicago city employee accused of threatening a Republican state Senator from Freeport will remain in custody.  Joseph Haggerty was denied release from the Stephenson County Jail yesterday ahead of his trial.  State police say Senator Andrew Chesney contacted authorities in September after receiving threats from Haggerty, who faces two counts of Threatening a Public Official.  The threats followed Chesney’s critical comments about Governor Pritzker.
