POLO — The Polo City Council last week approved a commercial grant to help fund exterior improvements at Ciminos Pizza through the city’s Business Development District program. The grant will reimburse property owner Luciano Venezia up to 2,000 dollars to repair rotted wood around window frames and repaint the building at 109 East Mason Street in gold and black, where Ciminos Pizza operates on the ground floor with apartments above. The city program reimburses approved exterior work such as painting, awnings and roof repairs, with grants capped at $5,000 dollars per property per fiscal year and projects required to be completed within 12 months. City officials said the program is intended to support revitalization efforts and maintain the historic appearance of the business district.
