DEKALB – Peace Road between Illinois Route 64 and Freed Road will close at the Kishwaukee River bridge beginning Tuesday, October 13, for paving work. The closure is expected to last about one week and will allow crews to complete the project before the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival while keeping workers safe. Work will include paving, guardrail adjustments, pavement striping and sealing the concrete bridge deck. A marked detour will use Motel Road and Freed Road. A DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputy will help direct traffic during morning and afternoon rush hours at Illinois Route 64 and Motel Road. Drivers should expect delays and may want to use Illinois Route 23 and Illinois Route 64 through Sycamore. All work is weather dependent.
