OREGON – Oregon Community Unit School District 220 recently received a $50,000 state grant to help maintain local school buildings. The Illinois State Board of Education awarded the funds through its School Maintenance Project Grant program. This program provides matching funds to support the upkeep of educational structures. Facilities Director Bill Nesemeier organized the documentation to secure the award for the district. School officials plan to use the money for ongoing repairs to the heating and cooling systems. The grant also supports the maintenance of geothermal equipment across the campus. These funds will serve as a dollar for dollar match for the district maintenance budget.
