Oregon Methodist Church To Host Blood Drive Oct. 13

OREGON – The Oregon United Methodist Church will host a blood drive Tuesday, Oct. 13, from noon to 5 p.m. at 200 S. Fourth St. in Oregon. The Rock River Valley Blood Center will collect whole blood donations for hospitals throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.

“Steady blood donations from local communities help hospitals prepare for patients who need transfusions,”  said Maggie Anderson, Marketing and Recruitment Specialist with the Rock River Valley Blood Center. “We encourage eligible donors to consider giving during the October drive.”

Donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with signed parental consent, and weigh at least 110 pounds. The full donation process takes about an hour, while the blood collection takes less than 10 minutes.
