OREGON – The Oregon Church of God will host a blood drive Tuesday, Sept. 29, from noon to 5 p.m. at 860 W. Oregon Trail Road in Oregon. The Rock River Valley Blood Center will collect whole blood donations for regional hospitals.
Maggie Anderson, Donor Recruiter for the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said it is vital that people participate.
“The need for blood continues every day in hospitals across our service area,” Anderson said. “Community blood drives help make sure patients have access to the blood products they need.” Donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with signed parental consent, and weigh at least 110 pounds. The full donation process takes about an hour, including registration, screening and recovery, while the blood collection takes less than 10 minutes.
