Ogle County Sheriff’s Office Receives IDOT Grant, Reports 717 Citations in 2025 Traffic Enforcement Effort

ROCHELLE — The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office has received a federal fiscal year 2026 Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program grant through the Illinois Department of Transportation to support increased traffic safety patrols. The announcement follows results from the 2025 program year, during which deputies issued 717 citations and made 117 arrests between October 2024 and September 2025. Enforcement focused on speeding, impaired and distracted driving, and seat belt violations, resulting in 309 speeding citations, 33 DUI arrests, and 73 traffic arrests. Funded by federal highway safety dollars, the program targets dangerous driving behaviors during high-risk periods to reduce crashes and improve safety on Illinois roadways.
