OREGON — The Ogle County Board approved zoning and planning actions Tuesday. Members voted unanimously to grant a special use permit to Jose and Edgar Nunez for an event venue on agricultural property along Illinois Route 38 in Dement Township. They also approved a zoning map amendment rezoning about five acres on West Grove Road to rural residential for construction of a home. The board reviewed facilities updates, including courthouse roof repairs expected to be completed by mid-February and plans for future tuckpointing. Updates were also given on Memorial Plaza and the Animal Patrol Office layout. Board members discussed recognition plans for longtime member Susie Corbett. They approved Interim Human Resources Director June Jacobs as the county’s IMRF authorized agent. Officials reported that participation in a community solar program is generating about a 15 percent reduction in electrical costs, or roughly $12,000 in annual savings countywide.
