Jamarques Lawrence hit a 3-point shot with less than a second left in the game to give #23 Nebraska an 83-80 win over #13 Illinois on Saturday in Champaign.
The Huskers are now (11-0) for the season and (2-0) in the Big 10. It is the best start in program history.
Nebraska was led by Iowa transfer Pryce Sandfort who had 32 points. Rienk Mast had 17.
Illinois drops to (8-3) for the season and (1-1) in the Big 10.
Kylan Boswell had 20 points for the Illini. Andrej Stojakovic had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Keaton Wagler had 19.
The next game for Illinois is on December 22nd when they play Missouri in St. Louis.
