CHICAGO – The deployment of U.S. Army National Guard troops in Chicago is on pause, for now. A federal judge has blocked the deployment after a lawsuit was filed by Governor J.B. Pritzker on behalf of the state and the City of Chicago. The suit was filed Monday and heard in court yesterday, as troops were already in Broadview, awaiting orders to go to Chicago. Yesterday’s ruling blocked the National Guard from entering the city for two weeks.
