DEKALB – A Plano man sustained serious injuries following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash near Hinckley on Sunday evening, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to the intersection of Somonauk Road and Phillips Road around 8 P.M., and upon arrival, located a male driver and his motorcycle on the east side of the roadway. An initial investigation revealed that the 35-year-old was reportedly traveling southbound when he allegedly failed to negotiate a curve and lost control. The vehicle crossed over the center lane boundary into oncoming traffic before running off the road to the east. The man suffered a broken femur and other serious injuries. Hinckley EMS transported him to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital for treatment. After an investigation, he was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
