SPRINGFIELD — Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza says her office focused on financial stability and transparency in 2025, citing fully paid General Revenue Fund bills for the fourth straight year, a $1.9 billion year end cash balance, and continued payments to vendors within 15 days. The office reports growth of the state Rainy Day Fund to more than $2.4 billion, additional pension prepayments that generated an estimated $41 million in added earnings, and the state’s 10th credit rating upgrade in recent years. Other highlights include launching a bond debt transparency website, resolving prevailing wage cases, handling more than 113,000 public service calls, promoting economic development and tourism across Illinois, and expanding public outreach through videos and a new financial education podcast.
