Mendota High School Investigates Student After Contraband Found
MENDOTA — Mendota Township High School officials are investigating a student after contraband was discovered on school grounds. Superintendent Denise Aughenbaugh said an Interquest dog patrolling the parking lot indicated on a vehicle containing cans of beer, hunting shells, and a realistic-looking replica weapon. No actual weapon was involved.
The student has been identified and is facing disciplinary action, with potential legal consequences. The Mendota Police Department and the school resource officer assisted in the investigation. Aughenbaugh said the school is safe and encouraged parents to talk with their children about reporting any threats or safety concerns.
