FREEPORT – A 22-year-old Elgin man is charged in a shooting in Freeport. Police say a man was found shot Friday near Walnut Avenue and Stephenson Street. He was treated and released from the hospital. Officers searched an apartment in the 100 block of South Cherry Avenue and found the suspect, Josiah Franklin. He was arrested on multiple gun charges.
