Malta Days Festival Celebrates 20th Anniversary This Weekend

MALTA — The 20th annual Malta Days Festival will take place Friday and Saturday at Lions Park with live music, food, family activities, a car show, fireworks and community events. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. Friday with performances by BB and the Billies and Back Country Roads, along with bounce houses, food vendors and a beer garden. Saturday’s schedule includes a pancake breakfast hosted by the Malta Fire Department, the Tractor Trot 5K, a classic car show at Old School Pizza, and the Malta Days Market featuring more than 60 vendors. Festival events are centered around the Lions Park gazebo.

Erin McNeal of the Malta Days Committee said they have plenty of activities planned for kids as well.

“We have bounce houses all weekend, $5 wristbands on Friday, $15 wristbands on Saturday,” McNeal said.  “We have Miss Jamie’s Farm coming in and singing to the kids at 11 on Saturday.”

Bingo players will compete for more than $500 in cash prizes. Entertainment continues throughout the day with performances by the Killer Bees and the Sociables before a fireworks display Saturday night.
