Jake Bates kicked a 42-yard field goal as time expired to give the Lions the win.
Detroit was led by quarterback Jared Goff who threw for 331 yards and a touchdown.
Amon-Ra St. Brown had 11 receptions for 139 yards
The Lions finished with a record of (9-8) and will miss the playoffs.
The Bears are champions of the NFC North with a record of (11-6). They scored 16 points in the 4th quarter to tie the game.
Quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 212 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Bears will play at home on Saturday night against Green Bay in the wild-card game.
They split with the Packers during the regular season.
Chicago is the second seed in the NFC Playoffs.
