MENDOTA – A Leland man was arrested early Wednesday after reportedly fleeing police during a traffic stop near I-39 and Route 34 in Mendota. The Mendota Police Department say the maroon Ford truck driven by 37-year-old Loudon A. Herbsleb allegedly led officers on a pursuit that ended in Ottawa after spike strips were deployed. Herbsleb was taken into custody following a short foot chase and faces multiple charges including aggravated fleeing to elude, driving while license revoked, resisting arrest, and possession of methamphetamine, along with several outstanding warrants. He was taken to the LaSalle County Jail pending a court appearance.
