ROCHELLE – Rochelle Township High School will present Leaving Iowa by Tim Clue and Spike Manton Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 1 through 3, at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The comedy follows Don Browning as he returns to his hometown to place his father’s ashes in their final resting place while reflecting on family road trips from his childhood. The production has a local connection because Clue is a Rochelle Township High School graduate and recently returned to help with rehearsals.
Director Betsy Swartz said, “And so it’s especially fun because, of course, our memories are always a little distorted. And so the characters and the reaction of parents are all exaggerated and funny.” Swartz added, “And I challenge anyone not to see a little bit of themselves or their family somewhere in this play.”
Tickets are $5 at the door, with entry through Door 15 on the north side of the building.
