Illinois Corn And Soybean Harvest Progress

SPRINGFIELD – Illinois farmers have harvested 26% of the state’s corn and 21% of its soybeans as of Sept. 27, according to the latest USDA crop progress report. Corn harvest is ahead of the five year average of 18%, while soybean harvest is also ahead of the five year average of 14%. Corn is 83% mature and 97% dented, while 79% of soybeans have dropped their leaves. Illinois corn is rated 60% good and 15% excellent, while soybeans are rated 46% good and 14% excellent.
