Inhumane Conditions And Medical Neglect Alleged At Chicago-Area ICE Detention Center

BROADVIEW –  A lawsuit claims an immigration processing facility in the Chicago area is subjecting detainees to inhumane conditions.  The class-action suit was filed Friday, with the complaint also accusing officials of denying detainees their right to consult with attorneys before they’re relocated.  The defendants include Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, Border Patrol Chief Greg Bovino and interim Chicago ICE Field Office Director Samuel Olson.  The ICE facility in question is the same facility where a protest took place last month, which resulted in an Illinois congressional candidate being federally indicted on charges of impeding a U.S. law enforcement officer.
