Illinois Teen Arrested for Killing Dozen Deer

CLINTON COUNTY – An 18-year-old from Carlyle, Illinois, is facing criminal charges and conservation violations after authorities say he killed up to 13 deer in Clinton County. The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office says Ashden McArthur stopped his vehicle on a roadway near the Boulder Area on October 24 and shot multiple deer, allegedly using a .22 caliber rifle and a spotlight. Law enforcement executed search warrants at addresses in Clinton and Marion counties on October 29, uncovering evidence linking McArthur to the killings. McArthur was taken into custody by Clinton County deputies and Illinois Conservation Police.
