Illinois Residents Can Add Driver’s Licenses to Apple Wallet

CHICAGO — Illinois residents can now add their state-issued driver’s licenses and IDs to Apple Wallet on iPhones and Apple Watches, allowing them to present digital IDs in certain situations while still carrying physical IDs as required by law. The state joins 12 others and Puerto Rico in offering mobile identification, with plans to expand access to Android devices through Google and Samsung Wallets in the future.
