Illinois out scored Tennessee 43-28 in the second half on their way to a 75-62 win in Nashville.
The Illini are now (7-2) for the season.
Illinois was led by Tomislav Ivisic and Keaton Wagler with 16 points each.
Kylan Boswell also had 15 points.
Tennessee dropped to (7-3) for the season.
The Illini open up Big 10 play on Tuesday night at Ohio State.
