CHICAGO — The Illinois Housing Development Authority is awarding $6 million in grants to 30 housing counseling agencies across the state to expand financial education, homebuyer training, and foreclosure prevention services. Agencies serving Ogle, Lee, and DeKalb counties include Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Northern Illinois, which covers DeKalb County, and Rock Island Economic Growth Corporation, which serves Ogle County. The funding, supported by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, will help more Illinois families access down payment assistance, affordable mortgage programs, and guidance on home maintenance, credit readiness, and foreclosure prevention.
