SPRINGFIELD — Illinois residents can fish without a license during Illinois Free Fishing Days from June 19 through June 22. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources says the event is intended to introduce new anglers to fishing and encourage families to enjoy the outdoors. Anyone age 16 and older normally must have a fishing license to fish in Illinois.
