IDOT, Police Increase Patrols For Halloween Safety

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois State Police, and local law enforcement agencies are increasing patrols through Nov. 3 to deter impaired driving during Halloween celebrations. Officials urge drivers to stay sober and plan ahead by using a designated driver, rideshare, or public transportation if drinking or using drugs. The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Drive High, Get a DUI” campaigns are funded through federal highway safety grants and reinforced by IDOT’s “It’s Not a Game” traffic safety program.
