IDNR Sets Waterfowl Seasons and Zones for 2026 Through 2030

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has finalized waterfowl season dates and zone boundaries for the 2026 through 2030 hunting seasons following scientific review and hunter input. The new plan merges the former South-Central and South zones into one South Zone, while all other boundaries remain unchanged after most hunters indicated their counties were correctly zoned. The update also introduces split duck seasons in all zones to allow for later end dates, aligning with hunter preferences and biological data. The new regulations take effect in 2026, with maps and specific season dates available on the IDNR website.
