I-88 Reopens After Two-Vehicle Crash Near Ashton

ASHTON — Westbound I-88 at milepost 71 was shut down Monday morning following a two-vehicle crash, the Illinois State Police reported. The crash occurred around 9:22 a.m., and multiple injuries were reported. Two people were transported by helicopter to a Rockford hospital. Westbound lanes reopened at approximately 1 p.m.
