Habitat For Humanity Raffles Shed Built By Byron Students

OREGON — Habitat for Humanity of Ogle County is raffling an 8-by-10-foot storage shed built by Byron High School construction students to support local affordable housing projects. The drawing will take place Friday during Byron’s homecoming game, with delivery arranged by the winner. Tickets cost $10 each or $25 for three and are available at the game. Proceeds will help fund building materials for Habitat’s ongoing housing project in Davis Junction.

“We love this opportunity to partner with them. It’s such a perfect fit as they’re learning, working with blueprints, building the rafters and the walls and siding and shingles, all the things we do at Habitat,” said Sherry Anspaugh, Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity of Ogle County. “We love that they’re learning those things and now we can partner to raise funds to help a family come to the dream of homeownership through the help of the construction classes.”
