Grand Detour House Fire Under Investigation

GRAND DETOUR — The Dixon Rural Fire Protection District responded to a residential structure fire early Monday morning in the 3500 block of West Broad St. in Grand Detour. Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire at the rear of a two story home. A MABAS Box Alarm was activated and later upgraded to a second alarm to bring additional resources to the scene. Crews worked to contain the fire and searched for a possible resident, who was later found outside the home and transported to OSF Saint Katharine Medical Center. The fire was brought under control and the scene was cleared shortly after 6 a.m. No firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office.
