Glider Plane Lands In Cornfield Near Somonauk

SOMONAUK — A yellow glider plane made an emergency landing in a cornfield near Graham and Chicago roads in Somonauk on Monday afternoon, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said the aircraft was losing hot air and could no longer maintain altitude before landing in the field south of Chicago Road on the west side of Graham Road around 5 p.m. The pilot was identified as a 47-year-old Huntley man. No injuries were reported.
