MORRISON – A 4-year-old child was airlifted to a hospital Saturday after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle near Morrison. The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded around 11:45 a.m. to U.S. Route 30 near Blue Goose Road. Authorities said the child was riding a bicycle down a driveway and entered the roadway when an eastbound vehicle was unable to stop before the child collided with the passenger side of the vehicle. Deputies performed lifesaving measures until emergency crews arrived. The child was airlifted to a local hospital. The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
