SYCAMORE — A Genoa woman faces multiple felony charges after allegedly using her vehicle to strike two people near Illinois Route 38 west of DeKalb last week. Deputies said 23-year-old Destiny Y. Banner hit a vehicle carrying five occupants around 7 AM on November 1st, forcing it into a ditch, then struck it again before driving toward the occupants as they tried to flee, injuring two with her car. Those reportedly struck suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Her vehicle was later found abandoned and damaged off Route 38 several miles away. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office described this as a Domestic Incident. Banner was arrested November 3rd when she turned herself into the DeKalb County Jail. She was charged with two counts of aggravated battery, three counts of aggravated assault, and failure to stop after a crash involving injury. Banner was released after a pre-trial hearing and the matter is still under investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
