Forreston Man Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash on IL 64

MOUNT MORRIS – An 18-year-old Forreston man was injured Thursday around 9 p.m. in a single-vehicle crash on the 8000 block of West Illinois Route 64. Deputies say the driver went off the roadway into the north ditch, crossed into the eastbound lane, and continued into the south ditch and a cornfield before stopping. He was taken to OSF St. Katherine Hospital in Dixon for non-life-threatening injuries and cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed. Mount Morris and Polo fire departments and Mount Morris police assisted at the scene.
