ROCHELLE — The Flagg Rochelle Community Park District held a public hearing Monday night on the planned sale of about $1.135 million in general obligation park bonds. The bonds would cover debt payments, land costs and park improvements. Commissioners approved the 2026 tax levy at a rate of .58 per $100 of assessed property value. That rate is down from .63 last year and lowers the tax burden on property owners. The board approved replacing asphalt with concrete and adding two bays at the Skare Park Driving Range for about $11,200. Raymond James was hired as municipal adviser for 2026 at a cost of $7,500. District officials reported strong recreation center participation, increased demand for swim lessons and fitness classes, completed winterization and cleanup work at Spring Lake, and plans to remove and replace a shelter at VFW Park.
