Fire Destroys Home in DeKalb County, No Injuries Reported

SHABBONA — A fire destroyed a home in rural DeKalb county Thursday afternoon, but no one was injured. A neighbor reported the blaze at 4626 Main Street in Shabbona around 12:49 p.m., and first responders arriving on scene found the residence fully engulfed. Multiple fire departments assisted the Shabbona Fire Department in extinguishing the fire. The State Fire Marshal’s Office and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause.
