Federal Grant to Fund DeKalb Airport Taxiway Repairs

WASHINGTON DC – U.S. Rep. Lauren Underwood announced $287,640 in federal funding for DeKalb Airport to rehabilitate 5,700 feet of Taxiway B. The funding comes through the Illinois State Block Grant Program at the U.S. Department of Transportation. The project will improve the condition of the existing pavement and reduce foreign object debris. The work is expected to extend the useful life of the taxiway. Underwood, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, announced the funding as part of more than $35 million in federal resources secured for programs and projects across northern Illinois.
