SANDWICH — One person was arrested and several others were injured following a two vehicle crash early Tuesday near South County Line Road and Holiday Drive, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were called to the crash at about 1:00 AM and claimed a passenger vehicle driven by a 27-year-old Sandwich man was traveling east and allegedly crossed the center line into the westbound lane, where it collided with a passenger vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Plano driver, sending both vehicles into a ditch. Both drivers were injured, along with a passenger, a 28-year-old Sandwich man, and were transported to Valley West Hospital by Sandwich and Somonauk fire departments. The 27-year-old Sandwich driver was arrested and cited for DUI, DUI over 0.08 and improper lane usage, while the Plano driver was cited for allegedly driving on a suspended license.
