DeKalb Fire Department Puts New Ladder Truck Into Service With Push-In Ceremony

DEKALB — The DeKalb Fire Department placed its new Rosenbauer King Cobra ladder truck into service Friday during a traditional push-in ceremony at Fire Station One. Firefighters, paramedics and community members joined special guests, including the family of the late Captain John Isom, who were honored with a plaque and one of the “Big John” signs from the department’s retired 1990 Gruman Arial Cat ladder truck named in his memory. The other sign will remain displayed at Station One as part of the department’s tribute to Isom’s legacy.
